Who I am

I completed a two-year vocational school in my hometown of Friedrichshafen. It was a great time, and I learned the most important thing for my future life in this school - never to get stuck in one industry. Don't get me wrong, I earned my money for my travels and equipment in the industry. I am also aware of the place of the industry in society, politics and the environment, as well as the pros and cons. But because of my nature, the industry is not my personal place to develop.

Gaining experience in monitoring migration of birds in Germany (DVB - today NABU), also I collaborated in the management of parks in Germany and in the United States and elaborated a photographic documentation projects for educational use for the State Environmental Foundation of the State of Mato Grosso.

I collaborated with a lot of environmental and social organisations, like Ecotrópica Foundation (Mato Grosso), Environmental Association for Preservation and Conservation (ARCA/Mato Grosso), World Wide Fund Inglaterra (WWF-UK), World Wide Fund for Nature EUA (WWF-USA), World Wide Fund International, Oro Verde (Alemanha),The National Foundation for Indians (FUNAI-MT), Association Halitinâ (Association of the Parecis Indians/Mato Grosso), Association Kurâ-Bakairi (Association of the Bakairi Indians/Mato Grosso), Universities of Mato Grosso/Brazil, Tübingen/Germany, Arizona and Florida, Indian Museum in Mato Grosso-State/Brazil and so on...

In 1995 I founded in Curitiba my own NGO - the Xama Association

In 2000 I founded also in Curitiba the Latin-american Society of Photography (SLAF).

In 2015 I started to work with músic.

Individual and collective Photo Exhibitions national and international, publications in Journals and Books (photos and photo reports). Publications in the most important brazilians Photo-journals.

EQUIPMENT

Once Upon A Time...

The time with my photographing work was unfortunately short and a long, long time ago. I only can remember some stuff I have had and also during my search on the net I saw that some manufactures failed during the digital revolution and were extinct like the dinossourus. Some of the equipment photos are only illustrative. The equipment below I remembered:

2 bodies Canon F-1; wideangular1:2,0/20mm and a 1:2,8/28mm,

small tele lens 1:1,2/85mm; tele 1:2,8/2:0mm, Novoflex 1:4,5/400mm and macro1:3,5/50mm,

Bellows device for photography, Tripods: Benbo, Gitzo, a Clambtabletop and a Manfrotto

Monopod, Infrared-Remote Control, Rimowa-Photocase, Lowe-Photo-Backpack, Metz - Flash and a lot of Accessories. All in all 32 kg!

The Films I usually used had do been few resistant against heat and humitidy, I decided to work with Kodachrome 25 and 64 ASA.

“A great photograph is a full expression of what one feels about what is being photographed in the deepest sense and is thereby a true expression of what one feels about life in its entirety.”
